Candle Care Guidelines

The Burn

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, burn until the entire surface has turned to liquid wax.
  • Always keep the wax pool free from wick and other debris.
  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time and allow to cool for 1-2 hours between burns.

The Extinguish

  • Never blow out your candle.  Either use a candle snuffer by carefully placing the dome shape bell over the flame to starve it of oxygen,  or a favourite of mine is to use a candle dipper, and simply dip the lit wick into the melted wax pool. This avoids smoke and rogue candle debris.
  • Once extinguished, allow the candle to cool.
  • Soy wax is a natural product and once set, the appearance may appear blemished. This will not affect the burning of your candle.

The Wick

  • Occasionally soy candles will cause wicks to produce an effect known as "mushrooming". This is caused from an excessive build-up of carbon. If this happens, simply trim it off but be careful not to allow this to fall into your wax pool.
  • Always trim your wick before relighting your candle to 5mm.

The Safety

  • Safety is a priority and our candles are tested rigorously.
  • Each candle is provided with a "Candle Care Guideline", please read it and look at the pictograms on the base of your candle.
  • When burning your candle, place it on a level and stable, fire resistant surface, out of reach from children, pets and flammable items. Do not use your lid as a base in case it slides off.
  • Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room in an area avoiding drafts, open air vents or fans.
  • Do not move your candle around whilst burning as the vessel may hot.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
